Corn starch
The starch derived from corn kernels consists of almost 90 percent carbohydrate compounds. There is also a small amount of protein and fat. To obtain starch, corn kernels are left for some time in sulfuric acid, having previously cleaned them. The acid dissolves the protein, resulting in the release of starch.
