Raw silk
Raw silk, a technical thread of natural silk obtained by combining several (more often 5-10) longitudinally folded cocoon threads (silkworms) into one; at the same time, the threads are firmly glued together with sericin (so-called silk glue). Sh.-S. (untwisted natural silk) should have uniformity in tone, purity (absence on short sections threads quenchedschenii or splits), connectivity (gluing) of silkworms. Sh.-S. it is processed into twisted silk, and also goes to the manufacture of textile fabrics, sewing threads, and other products.
Raw silk is produced from the cocoon of a silkworm caterpillar by rewinding silk. This silk is characterized by smoothness, softness, strength and good ability to stretch. Being a high-quality textile material, silk is also characterized by high elasticity, the ability to absorb a large amount of moisture, and most importantly, it does not cause unpleasant sensations on the body. That is why it can be used to create silk clothes, silk blankets, used in art and decoration.
